           Professor Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center, participated in the committee formed to discuss master's student (Omar Adel Mohammed Al-Falahi), a student in the Department of Dam Engineering and Water Resources - College of Engineering - University of Anbar for his tagged thesis:-

Detection of Potential Zones of Ground Water for Watershed by Using Analytical Hierarchy Process and GIS

The discussion took place on Wednesday, 5th January 2022, at 9:00 a.m. on the discussion room of the Department of Dam Engineering and Water Resources.

The student's study aims to develop a comprehensive and reliable way to demarcate potential groundwater feeding areas in dry and semi-dry areas such as Iraqi Western Desert using modern techniques (RS, GIS, AHP).

The discussion committee consisted of gentlemen: -

* Prof. Dr. Ayad Salbi Mustafa as a President

* Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel as a Member

* Ass. Prof. Dr. Maytham Mutsher Sharqi as a Member

* Prof. Dr. Khamees Naba’a Sayel as member and supervisor

The discussion was attended by the respected Head of Dam Engineering and Water Resources Department Ass. Prof. Dr. Juma Awad Al-Sumaidai, as well as number of professors and graduate students in the department. After extensive discussion by the discussion committee with the student, the thesis was accepted to an acceptable degree.
