The Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre (UEBDC) opens the first courses for the academic year 2023-2024

Within the activities of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre - Human Resources Development Department and in cooperation with the CEC in the presidency of the University of Anbar and under the direct supervision of the Director of the UEBDC, Prof. Dr. (Ammar Hatem Kamel), The first courses for the academic year 2023-2024 were opened, where the course tagged (bacterial culture media and methods of preparation) was held at the Centre’s headquarters. The course will continue for three days for the period from Sunday, 12/11/2023 until Tuesday 14/11/2023, the course in which Assistant Professor Dr. (Muthanna Badie Farhan), Assistant Professor Dr. (Hala Arshad Ali) and H. Researchers (Yasser Marei Nayef) lectured.
On its first day, the course included the theoretical aspect of the course, in which the lecturers gave an introductory overview of the culture media (CM), its types, its most important components, what are the steps in the process of preparing the (CM), how to choose the appropriate (CM) for the development of certain bacteria, in addition to other aspects represented by the most important equipment and devices used in the process of preparing the cultural media and paying attention to good sterilization conditions before, during and after the media preparation process.
The lecturers also noted that it is necessary to pay attention to the sterilization conditions since taking the sample, whether it is water, soil or medical samples, which will be given with the sterilization conditions of the medium during the preparation process accurate results in research or laboratory work that requires the development of bacteria.
The course witnessed a large presence by the Centre’s researchers and a number of teaching staff and researchers from colleges and research centres at the university and institutions from the relevant offices sector in Anbar province, and the course included some questions in different topics in the subject of the course which were answered by the lecturers.
