Completion of the installation of current meter stations in some valleys of the western region

In preparation for the start of the rainy season, the employees of the terminal station in Haditha and affiliated with the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Center completed the first stage of the installation of the current meter measuring stations in the valleys of Hajlan and Zagdan in addition to the Horan Valley, where the procedures for measuring the levels were identified and worked out after the installation of an integrated station for the weather in Haditha and cooperation with the Department of Meteorology in Heet to exchange information and databases in addition to cooperation with the Department of Small Dams in the western region to monitor and record the amounts of rain and floods in the district of Rutba (Horan Valley) as well as the weather station at the site of the centre on the campus of the University of Anbar.

It is hoped that flood monitoring stations and the measurement of valley drainage and water levels will be recorded in the western region to estimate the volume of water imports of these valleys, which will provide possible databases for researchers and postgraduate students to carry out studies in the field of hydrological models, water resources management, environment, climatic geography and the study of climate change. If the discharges of these valleys were recorded, monitored and measured, it would be the first time since the 1977 measurements carried out by a Yugoslavian company at the time.
