In continuation of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre (UEBDC) at the University of Anbar in monitoring and following up on weather conditions, especially those related to the amounts of rainfall, the weather station in the centre recorded a rainfall amount of (1.8) mm within half an hour, and Dr Atheer Salim Obaid, official of the hydrological station and researcher in the Planning and Databases Department at the centre. He said that the station recorded this amount at half past six in the morning and the rain continued for half an hour and that the department continues to monitor any amount of rain A bulletin is issued after each rainfall within the project of the department and the centre in establishing a continuous database to support postgraduate students, researchers, and those interested in the subject of water resources management.

It is noteworthy that the UEBDC contributed, supported and assigned the presidency of the university to design systems for water harvesting in the university buildings, and the presidency directed the Department of Construction and Projects to adopt water harvesting systems among the requirements of new buildings at the university, and a number of them were recently implemented.
