The Head of the Natural Resources Department at the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, Dr. Muneer Naji Ahmed, representing the Centre, participated with the delegation headed by the President of the University of Anbar, who was accompanied by a number of deans of colleges and heads of departments in the Presidency of the University, where the delegation met with the international team for academic evaluation that visited the University of Baghdad and discussed performance indicators, quality and scientific research in light of the requirements of international classifications, especially the Times classification.

This came in the context of the field visit, follow-up and evaluation program conducted by the International Team for Academic Evaluation of Iraqi universities included in the Times classification and candidate to compete in it, where they discussed the future of the variables of specialized knowledge and indicators of competition and entry of the university in international rankings and the support required by this path in terms of quality and modernization of academic programs.

The international team reviewed with the President of University of Anbar and his accompanying delegation the organizational requirements for communicating with international universities and benefiting from their experiences and expertise in the field of building scientific and academic partnerships and adopting advanced educational patterns responsible for enhancing the ability to provide environments for graduates' engagement in the labor market.

The meeting also discussed a number of topics, including international participation, education and scientific research partnerships, activities related to graduates, promotional and communication activities, scholarships and academic awards.

The international academic assessment team currently visiting Iraq includes Dr. Talal Youssef, Dean of Higher Education and Emerging Technologies in the Government of Queensland and former Vice Chancellor of the Union University of Australia, Mr. Nick Davis, President of the Times Middle East and Africa Rankings, Dr. Steve Hall, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Queensland, Australia, and Dr. Saleh Jaafar, Academic Professor in Malaysia.
