Joint meeting between the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre and the Anbar Governorate Office


Referring to the memorandum of cooperation between the University of Anbar and Anbar Governorate, and within the understandings, cooperation and coordination between the university and the governorate formations and the university's directives within its strategic plans to serve the community and that research centres take their role to promote this trend, a meeting was held at the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center at the University of Anbar that included Prof. Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel and Mr. Adel Hussein, Assistant Director of the Joint Center for Coordination and Monitoring in the Governor's Office, and the risk and crisis management officer in the province.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation and coordination in the field of studies related to climate change and related crises such as water scarcity and its effects on the agricultural sector, in addition to the subject of studies and data on emissions and their environmental impacts.

It was agreed to exchange data and measurements on these topics, in addition to forming joint teams that include climate and meteorology experts at the Centre and carrying out studies that would lay the foundations for finding solutions to reduce the impact of climate change and emissions on various sectors related to these problems. The meeting was attended by Dr. Haitham Abdul Mohsen Afen, Satellite Meteorological Officer, Planning and Databases Department, Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, University of Anbar.
