TOOFAN AL-AQSA Operation: Causes and Consequences

Based on Iraq’s firm position towards the Palestinian issue, and in conjunction with "Toofan AL-Aqsa Operation" carried out by the Palestinian resistance movement “Hamas”, and the massacres committed by the Israeli entity, the Center for Strategic Studies at University of Anbar, this morning, corresponding to 17/10/2023, held a symposium entitled “Toofan AL-Aqsa” Operation... Causes and Consequences. The symposium was sponsored by Professor Dr.Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, President of the University of Anbar.

The Symposium was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr.Wissam Hashem Khalil, and the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs. Assistant Professor Dr.Atheer Anwar Sharif.

The session was moderated by Professor Dr. Thaer Shaker Mahmood, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies.

In the symposium, Dr.Omar Hamid Shukur, Presented the reasons for the Hamas movement’s “Toofan AL-Aqsa” operation and the initial results of the operation. He also touched on the international position towards this operation and the subsequent widespread attack by Israel.

Dr.Tariq Hamid Mahmoud discussed the issue of protecting civilians during armed conflicts By of international law, and the case of the residents of the Gaza Strip was an example.

While Assistant Professor Dr. Moataz Ismail Khalaf, Spoke about the Future Repercussions of the aftermath of the "Toofan AL-Aqsa" Operation on the Gaza Strip in particular and on the region in general.
