2nd Colloquium on Future of Post-ISIS Iraq

 

The Center of Strategic and Security Studies at Anbar University held its second symposium for the academic year 2018 ? 9 at the seminar hall at the headquarter of the university, with the participation of a number of prominent international specialists in Iraqi affairs on Tuesday December 4, 2018 . The symposium analyzed "the future of Iraq after liberation from terrorism: Anbar province as a model", highlighting the prospects and challenges facing the country and the governorate in particular in the post-liberation phase. The seminar was run by Dr. Renad Mansour from the prestigious British Gotham House Foundation, who conducted in-depth discussions and approaches about the reality and future of Iraq and the province with Professor Toby Doug, the famous British political scientist from the London School of Economics and Politics and an expert on Iraqi affairs at the Middle East Center in it, and Professor Christine Van Den Tourn, director of The Institute for Regional and International Studies at the American University in Iraq and the prominent Iraqi political analyst, Professor Hisham Al-Hashemi. The symposium witnessed a wide and interactive attendance at various levels. Among the attendees were the President of the University, the assistants and a number of the deans of the faculties and a group of university professors and researchers of the center. The attendees enriched the seminar with their interventions and questions that attracted the interest of the participating experts and demonstrated the broad cultural and knowledge horizon of the university's administrative and teaching staff, and their deep concern for the future of Iraq and the province.
