A seminar {seminar} in the Department of Mechanical Engineering

  The Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering - Anbar University, in the presence of Dr. Saad Muhammad Jalil, Head of the Department, and as part of the activities of {the first semester} for the academic year 2023/2024, organized a seminar (seminar) on Tuesday, 10/24/2023, under the title: -

{{ Gaseous Fuel For Lower Emissions During The Cold Start And Warming Up of Spark Ignition Engines}}

{{Gaseous fuel to reduce emissions during cold starts and warm-up of spark ignition engines}}

  Delivered by Dr. Ahmed Ali Naguib
The panel discussion management committee consisted of the following:

Dr. Walid Muhammad Abd (Chairman)
Dr. Hamdi Imad El-Din (Member)
Dr. Mohamed Ghanem Jihad (Member)

The panel discussion summarized that gasoline engines during cold operation (below zero Celsius) and the warm-up period, especially at low environmental temperatures, have a negative impact on air pollution, especially at sub-zero temperatures. To achieve a stable engine when operating at low environmental temperatures, additional fuel must be injected into the combustion chamber and as a result there will be more emissions, in particular hydrocarbon emissions. In this study, gaseous fuels were used instead of liquid gasoline fuel, and the engine operating conditions were examined using different types of gaseous fuels during the period from the time of ignition until the catalyst reaches its proper operation at different temperatures, including below zero degrees Celsius and under load conditions. Complete engine.

The seminar was attended by the Graduate Studies Committee, the Scientific Committee, and a number of faculty members and graduate students in the department.
