Seminar held by the Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering

The Department of Engineering of Dams and Water Resources - Faculty of Engineering - Anbar University, within the framework of its weekly scientific activities for the academic year 2018/2019 (Chapter I) seminar seminar for the professors of the department under the title:

Roller Compacted Concrete and Its Applications

(Concrete and its applications)

On the discussion room in the section on Wednesday 19/12/2018.

The researcher, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayad Abdel-Hamid Salibi presented in this seminar a different type of concrete than the conventional type. This type of concrete is characterized by high resistance to compressibility and ease of work with high speed of completion in addition to corrosion resistance, moisture resistance and other influences. The first of the uses in the construction and paving of the parking lots of large spaces, especially in the ports of loading and unloading or industrial plants for heavy industries, and then spread the use of this type of concrete in the work of roads For large trucks with low speed and intersections of large roads and airports. The components of this concrete are no different from ordinary concrete (cement with sand, gravel and water), but have very little water, so that the mixture is semi-dry and transported to the work site and brushes in the desired place using the brush Which is used in the asphalt brushes in the construction of asphalt roads, and then followed the process of compacting the concrete using an iron vibration vibration to reach high density and your thickness does not exceed twenty centimeters. In order to obtain the required resistance, the concrete treatment should be carried out in one of the methods used in the normal concrete maturation.

The seminar was attended by members of the Scientific Committee and a number of teachers and engineers.
