Workshop on "Cisco Networks" organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering

Within the activities of the first cultural week held by the Faculty of Engineering - Anbar University ,,,

The Electrical Engineering Department held a workshop on

«Cisco networks using the PACKET TRACER simulation»

On the Ibn al-Haytham Hall in the Civil Engineering Department at 10 am on Tuesday, 2/4/2019.

The workshop included the presentation of student projects under the supervision of Eng. Maryam Rahim Mirza.

This scientific workshop presents the structure, functions, components and models of the Internet and computer networks. OSI and TCP classes are used to examine the nature and role of protocols and services in the application, the network, the data link, and the physical layers. IP addressing principles and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media and processes are presented. Packet Tracer (PT) helps students analyze the operation of the protocol and networks and create small networks in a simulated environment. Thus, students can build students a simple LAN by implementing basic cable principles, making basic configurations of network devices, including Routers and adapters; implementation of IP addressing schemes and recognition of the difference between topology types such as mesh topology, star topology

This workshop includes 5 student projects which are

1. Design and connect network includes set of switches and routers

2. Design and connect 2 LAN network and 2 routers

3. DHCP server and basic DNS numbers

4. RIP routing numbers using 3 routers

5. Use the multiuser to connect LAN number 3 to WAN

The workshop was attended by the head of the electrical engineering department and a number of teachers and students.
