Seminar for Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering Teachers

The Department of Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering was organized in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Nafea Awad, Head of the Department and within the curriculum of his scientific activities for the academic year 2019/2018. Chapter II Seminar for the professors of the department under the title:

Performance of Nano filtration memorandum on water demineralization

The seminar focused on the importance of nanomaterials in the removal of mono and binary ions from saline solutions. The various mechanisms for the removal process were presented and their importance in the design of membranes separation. A mathematical model was used to evaluate the performance of membranes and compare them with laboratory data.

The results were presented and analyzed to arrive at an optimal design of the process and also in the manufacturing process. The final conclusion was the suitability of this type of membrane to separate the binary ions.

The seminar was attended by members of the scientific committee and a number of teachers and students of the fourth stage in the department.
