Ibn Qutaybah is Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Muslim al-Dinouri (d. 276 AH/889 AD), who had a major and prominent reform role in the service of science and knowledge. He is the author of famous works and numerous books. He is an encyclopedic scholar and is considered one of the figures of the Arab-Islamic civilization in the Abbasid era.

The study reached many results, including:

  1- Ibn Qutaybah possessed qualifications that made him a destination for scholars throughout the ages, and scholars recognized his status. Therefore, we find those who translate him mentioning that he is the author of useful classifications and famous works and that he is an artist in the sciences.

2- Through the thought carried by Ibn Qutaybah, he was able to compose this huge number of works.

3- Ibn Qutaybah was famous among linguists for announcing the doctrine of the Salaf, calling for it, and defending it.

4- Ibn Qutaybah was neutral in his writings and had no particular inclinations.
