The College of Basic Education/Haditha holds a scientific symposium on the effects of drugs

Under the guidance of the Deanship of the College of Basic Education / Hadith, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Mudhar Abd  Ali, the respected, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in our college held a scientific symposium this morning, Tuesday, 11/14/2023, entitled (Drug Abuse and Psychotropic Substances and Their Impact on Society).

This symposium was held in the presence of the Assistant Dean of the College for Scientific Affairs, M.D. The respected Ahmed Ragab Muhammad and a group of teachers and students, as well as a number of guests who went to the college to attend this symposium, which was held in response to the university’s assertion that stipulates the organization of activities and events aimed at protecting society from the white poison (drugs).

The management of this symposium was entrusted to the Head of the Arabic Language Department, Mr. Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Jumaa Mahmoud, who began by welcoming the audience, then gave his lecture in which he addressed (the Sharia axis), in which he explained “the Sharia ruling that forbids the use, sale, and purchase of drugs and the drinks that are spread in the markets that contain a percentage of drugs.”

Then came M. Dr. Atheer Walid Tawfiq to deliver a lecture in which he focused on the “legal topic” and explained “the severe penalties that are applied against those who work in buying, selling, and promoting drugs, and the most prominent legal provisions facing the addict and user.”

Then M. M. Muhammad Hamid Muhammad presented his lecture in which he discussed (the psychological axis) and the consequences of addiction on the psychological state

“The effect of drugs, the difference between the user and the addict, the stages of addiction, drug treatment steps, and recommendations.”

Then, in conclusion, the floor for comments and discussion was opened for those present to enrich what the lecturers presented on this topic and its seriousness.

Hence, the college extends its thanks and gratitude to everyone who contributed and participated in this blessed scientific seminar, asking God Almighty to protect our society and our country from this dangerous scourge.
