(The Middle East's phenomenon with terrorism and energy security) collaborative research with the University of Sharjah

Recently, the Center for Strategic Studies/Anbar University produced a collaborative study between Anbar University and the University of Sharjah titled "The phenomenon of terrorism and energy security in the Middle East." Research on the phenomenon of terrorism and how the Middle East's energy supply has been impacted by the terrorist group Daesh was included in the study. Given that the Middle East Region supplies almost 70% of the world's proven oil reserves, oil and gas are essential to life as we know it. It is anticipated that as new technological advancements in the realm of oil and gas exploration occur, this percentage will rise. However, terrorism in all its manifestations, whether state-sponsored or carried out by Takfiri groups, poses serious threats to Middle Eastern energy security. Among other things, this terrorism aims to seize control of the oil supplies, often known as "Black Gold," and use it to fund its operations. The security and availability of fossil fuels globally have suffered greatly as a result of the growth of terrorism in the Middle East in the final decade of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st, which targeted energy sources for either finance or sabotage. There were six chapters in the study in addition to an introduction and a conclusion.
