Time charts are one of the educational tools in teaching history. They are an educational tool used to clarify the temporal relationships between historical events, and to realize and embody the succession and chronological order of the development of one or more aspects of the life of the community during a specific period of time.

The problems faced by history teachers in schools, especially secondary schools, especially in the first grades, are the problem of students’ perception of the temporal relationships between historical events and currents, which are more difficult for students to perceive than their perception of spatial relationships in geography.

The clarity of the temporal relationships of the events of history is a major factor in understanding these events and visualizing their historical development, so it became necessary for the (history teacher) to use some educational aids that help students to clarify the chronological sequence of events and realize the time range of the different historical periods, and this clarification and awareness helps them to develop sense The timeline is clear from the historical event.

And temporal paintings have their value, because history is a record of past events as it deals with the study of past civilizations that include complex historical temporal relationships that include causal relationships. The growth of concepts of historical time (coneapts of hiteries al time) is within the age of eleven, and therefore it is useful to use time lines and paintings that may help to realize the temporal relationships between historical events, and we see that studies related to temporal relationships and their realization in history It was confined to a more comprehensive, deep and important problem, which is the study of the process of developing time sense and the concept of time in the child in the various stages of his development. Therefore, we find that this problem was the subject of many research studies in this regard. Helping to achieve it, that whenever the sense of time is used intentionally or consciously, this sense becomes stronger

The temporal paintings show the temporal gradation of the development of several aspects in the life of the developed society, politics, constitutional life, and the economic entity during a certain historical era, as it is an important educational tool to determine (clarify / understand) the development of each of the main aspects in the life of the nation separately, and this is included in the What does it represent (the longitudinal line in the timeline).

Just as temporal panels help to understand the relationships and interactions between these cultural aspects of the nation during the same period, which is what is represented by (the horizontal line in the temporal panel), it is also a tool to clarify the comparative historical study of the development of civilization in two or more regions of the world during specific historical periods, for example. Comparative temporal map of the evolution of the regime in Egypt and Iraq during ancient historical times.

The time charts arouse the interest of the students and give them opportunities for training in drawing measurements of historical time through their drawing of time lines and time charts. Time plates play the required role when used in teaching history. Teachers/teachers must follow some of the following important foundations:

1. Divide the historical period to be taught into several units, and each unit has a specific period of years, and take into account the accuracy in the division by finding a time scale commensurate with the size of the board or paper on which the time plate is drawn.

2. The scale of the drawing of the time line should be (small) if the historical eras have different time periods, for example, such as the events of the history of Iraq from the Stone Ages to the Islamic eras, and the scale of the drawing should sometimes be one centimeter per 100 years or one centimeter per 50 years or less than This depends on the extent of the divergence or convergence of historical events, and the scale of the drawing of the time line should be (large) if the historical periods it illustrates are relatively close, such as the events of modern Iraq.

3. Mention the important or famous events when drawing the temporal picture, for example the beginning of an era or the beginning of the foundation of a state,

There must be a specification in the date if the date is Hijri or Gregorian.
