A scientific lecture on food manufacturing and packaging using natural, plant-based biomaterials

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, the College of Science hosted the scientific lecture entitled “Food Manufacturing and Canning Using Natural Plant Biomaterials.” This lecture aims to introduce the latest technologies in the field of food manufacturing and packaging using natural, plant-based biological materials, and their impact on human health and the environment.

This was attended by a large number of graduate students, faculty members and researchers from various colleges. The valuable lecture was given by visiting professor Dr. Muhammad Jawad from Universiti Putra Malaysia, who is a specialized expert in the field of food processing and advanced polymers and has extensive experience in this field.
The lecture covered many important topics, including the benefits of using these materials on human health and the environment through manufacturing environmentally friendly materials based on natural waste such as palm fronds, tree leaves, and rice waste and using them in aspects of food canning, in addition to the latest technologies used in food manufacturing and canning using these materials. And an emphasis on building bridges of knowledge with various colleges and interested parties from our university
At the conclusion of the lecture, the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdel Ghafour, praised the efforts of the visiting professor, Dr. Muhammad Jawad, in delivering this valuable lecture.
