Tasks of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs

The duties of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs is one of the pillars on which the Deanship of the College of Engineering relies. This position is the main link responsible for following up conferences, seminars, seminars and scientific activities in the college in addition to following up on undergraduate and postgraduate students' affairs and their discipline during their undergraduate studies. And after graduating from college.

The office of the assistant dean for scientific affairs, represented by the assistant dean for scientific affairs, consists of several divisions: the Scientific Affairs Division, the Studies and Planning Division, the Graduate Studies Division, the Registration Division, the Continuing Education Division, the Quality Assurance Division, in addition to the college’s library, and each division has a director who is responsible About the activities of the division and the performance of its duties entrusted to it and according to the instructions in force.

Among the tasks of the Office of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs is to answer the incoming books, follow up on students ’attendance and absences, and adhere to uniforms, check records of student discipline committees, follow up on preparing exam tables in coordination with scientific departments, and ensure the application of instructions and controls issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to the instructions in effect for the presidency of the University Anbar.The Assistant Dean of the College for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Studies exercises the following powers.

Organizing the weekly lesson schedules in coordination with the scientific departments.1

2.Supervising the record of weekly lectures to ensure that all approved hours are covered for each case.

3.Follow-up on the permanence of postgraduate students and their discipline according to the regulations and instructions in force.

4.Checking and unifying applications for admission to female students after receiving them from the scientific departments.

5.Checking cases of transferring postgraduate studies from universities to the college and referring them to scientific departments for consideration.

6.Follow up of postgraduate students in terms of the prescribed study periods in accordance with the regulations and instructions.

7.Announcing the examination results after being approved by the higher studies committees in the scientific departments.

8.Providing the academic departments with degrees according to a form prepared for this purpose for approval by the higher studies committees.

9.Coordination with the scientific departments regarding the delivery of examination questions to the two roles.

10.Addressing the official departments, except for the ministries, regarding everything related to the biography of a graduate student.

11.Addressing the university presidency / the department of scientific affairs and graduate studies in all matters related to the biography of a graduate student.

12.Signing the promotion and annual bonus forms for his employees, as he is the direct manager.

13.Supervising the workflow in the Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies Division, distributing work among its employees, and monitoring their work hours.

14.Agreeing to grant employees of the people and its units the regular leave that they are entitled to in accordance with the law.

Organizing and checking documents, as well as grades and academic units.15

Organizing a comprehensive summary of students who fail, drop out and dismissed.16

Preparing everything related to the quarterly and final exams.17
