A new scientific achievement achieved by the cadres of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre


In a new scientific achievement and in line with the plans of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at University of Anbar to open up to international research centres to achieve the university's strategic plans, the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils announces the victory of a joint research project from several Arab research Centre’s, including the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, funded out of 29 projects at the level of Arab countries out of 400 research projects that applied to participate.

The research project in the field of optimal management of water, energy, food and ecosystems linkages using nature-based innovations and solutions in some countries of the Arab world, which was submitted by a joint consortium of several research centres in Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia and Oman. This project was participated in by the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre, and the research team included in its membership (representatives of Iraq) headed by Prof. Dr. Isam Mohammed Abdulhameed (former director of the centre and currently a member of the centre’s board of directors), in addition to Prof. Dr. Isam Khudair Hamza (researcher at the centre and member of the Board of Directors) and Prof. Dr. Saif Al-Din Abdul Razzaq (researcher at the Centre of Desert Studies and member of the Board of Directors of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Centre), in addition to Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Hashem Khalil (Assistant President for Scientific Affairs and Researcher at the Renewable Energy Research Centre). Congratulations to our dear university and research centre for this great achievement.
