Within the cultural season in the Department of Agricultural Economics and under the generous sponsorship of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Edham Ali Abdel. A scientific workshop was held entitled (Repercussions of the High Prices of Agricultural Commodities Production Requirements and Their Repercussions on Food Prices), which was attended by Prof. Dr. Ali Darub Kassar at the College  of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics / University of Anbar, and Dr. Bilal Najah Jubeir from the Ministry of Agriculture / Department of Agricultural Research Agricultural Economics Research Department . The first lecturer emphasized that the rise in the prices of basic commodities is due to a number of reasons, including the increase in demand, the lack of supply, and the decline of the dollar against other currencies.  The first lecturer, Dr. Ali Darub Kassar, also stressed that raising the prices of production requirements may be attributed to several reasons, including the liberalization of the markets for agricultural production requirements, to create a competitive and fair environment for investors, and the abolition of restrictions imposed on the circulation of these requirements, which contribute to reducing prices and preventing monopoly.  As for the second lecturer, Dr. Bilal Najah, pointed out that the rise in food prices was due to the high prices of fertilizers, which in turn led to the rise in the prices of seeds, as well as the rise in the prices of meat, due to the high prices of feed, the high costs of shipping and energy prices and the increase in demand for agricultural commodities. At the end of the workshop, scientific interventions were made from the attendees and appropriate recommendations were taken.
