Within the cultural season in the Department of Agricultural Economics and under the generous sponsorship of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Idham Ali Abdel, A scientific Symposium was held entitled (The investment climate in Iraq and some economic indicators affecting it and the agricultural sector) which was attended by Prof. Dr. Ali Darub Kassar at the College  of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Economics / University of Anbar. The lecturer indicated that the Iraqi economic environment is not suitable for foreign direct investment because of the indicators it bears that are not in the interest of the foreign investor, which is represented in the competitiveness and ability to manage the national economy as well as the weak indicator of political stability, high unemployment rates and the contribution of the agricultural sector to the gross domestic product, as well as the lack of The ability of the Iraqi economy to diversify the sources of financing its budget, as it is a rentier economy that depends on one resource represented by the oil sector, which constitutes a very large percentage of government revenues. In addition, the agricultural sector, despite its possession of important resources, will remain behind in the advancement and support of the oil sector as long as it is condemned to mismanagement of these resources and as long as its indicators are this weak.

At the end of the Scientific Symposium, scientific interventions were made from the attendees and appropriate recommendations were taken.
