Starting a PhD student project in the Animal Production Department

 

With the God’s blessing, the PhD student Ammar Adel Saleh started his research The effect of adding Cymbopogon Citratus to the diet on the productive and physiological performance of broilers and some qualitative and sensory characteristics of their cold-stored meat.

The supervision of Prof. Dr. Dhafer Thabet Mohamed.  During this stage, the birds were distributed to the treatments. After that, used the preventive and vaccinations programs, as well as the homogenization of the herd, and implemented application for the lighting, heat and humidity programs.  The study aims are improve the productive performance of broilers, and the quality and sensory characteristic for meat by addition vitamin E and natural materials (lemon grass), which acts as an anti-oxidant and anti-microbial.
