Within the cultural season for department of soil sciences and water resources and under the auspices of the dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Idham Ali Abd and the head of the department of soil sciences and water resources, Prof. Dr. Waqas Mahmood Abdulatif, the department of soil sciences and water resources organized a scientific symposium entitled (Extensive reading in the Iraqi soil classification system), in the hall of the college of Agriculture

The symposium was delivered by Both of Prof. Dr. Muthana Khalil Ibrahim and Prof. Dr. Ali Hussain Al-Bayati

The symposium aimed to

1. Identify the pros and cons of the system when applying

2. The possibility of approving the Iraqi system and making it binding in all research and studies in government departments and research centers

3. Capture the most important proposals that lead to the development of the system
