within the scheduled curriculum for the current academic year, graduate students in the Department of Horticulture and Landscaping offered three seminars, PhD Muhammad Jabbar Hussein presented a seminar entitled Organic fertilizers and their role in growth and yield of date palms. The student explained during the seminar the importance of using organic fertilizers in date palm orchards. The student stated that the use of organic fertilizers reduces the costs of chemical fertilizers, reduces environmental pollution and improves the quality of production.

PhD student Ansam Shalal Sherida presented a seminar entitled The effect of plant growth regulators and amino acids on the active substances of some medicinal plants. The student explained the importance of using plant growth regulators and amino acids and their role in increasing the active substances in some medicinal plants.

PhD student Zina Abdullah Bahr presented a seminar entitled Choosing the best Propagation Method in Fruit Trees. During which the student presented a comparison among the methods of propagation used globally to determine the best one according to the type of fruit tree propagated. During the seminar, a detailed discussion took place, in which the department professors who hold high scientific titles, as well as postgraduate students in the department, participated
