Within the scheduled syllabus for the current academic year, graduate students in the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources presented two seminars. Master’s student “Noor Sabah Hussen” presented a seminar entitled The “Effect of levels of organic matter and minerals fertilizers on yield and some components of Potato”, in which the researcher explained that the addition of mineral fertilizers had a greater effect than organic fertilizers on the components of the potato plant, such as sugar percent and dry matter.

A master's student, “Jasim Mohammed Mahmood”, also presented a seminar entitled “Effect of salinity and sodic soil on plant growth”. The researcher demonstrated the types of salty soils, areas of their spread, their effect on plants, and how to deal with salinity, such as adding zeolite and constructing drains.During the seminar, a detailed discussion took place, in which the staff of the department and graduate students participated. ....
