Publishing a scientific research in an International Scientific Journal
Prof. Dr. Ayoob Obaid Mohammad, Head of Plant Protection Department in our college, was participated in a scientific team that included local, Arab and international researchers succeeded in publishing scientific research titled " Genetic Variations among Fleabane (Conyza bonariensis (L.) Cronquist) Populations in Jordan and Their Susceptibility Levels to Contact Herbicides" in reputable international journal:Agriculture-MDPI (ISSN: 2077-0472) The journal is indexed by Clarivate with an impact factor of: IF=3.4, Scopus with a Cite score=3.1, and within the first quartile in a Scimago=Q2 ranking. The journal is hosted by MDPI platform.The study investigated the molecular variations between Fleabane Conyza bonariensis (L.) weed populations and its relationship to herbicide-resistance of weed populations inhabited the Jordan Valley to Paraquat, Oxadiazon and Oxyfluorfen herbicides, even with higher concentrations. The results clearly indicated that the herbicide-resistant weed populations included in the study possess genetic variation that confers the resistance characteristic. Based on the results of response curves, there is a high probability of developing new resistant weed populations. Molecularly identified weed populations have also been registered with the NCBI website with relevant accession numbers.
