Violence against women and its health, legal and social implications

 Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Walid Nassar Jaffal, Dean of the College of Medicine,


 The Women's Empowerment Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized an awareness symposium entitled:

 “Violence against women and its health, legal and social implications.”

 The symposium witnessed active participation from Professor Dr. Nabil Jassim Muhammad, Head of the Sociology Department at the College of Arts at Anbar University,

And M.D. Roya Abdel Hadi Muhammad Saeed from the Family and Community Medicine Branch at the College of Medicine,

 In addition to L.M. Ibtihal Riad Dabaa from the University College of Knowledge/Department of Law.

The concept of violence against women was highlighted and its health, legal and social consequences were analyzed.
While highlighting the causes and psychological effects of this violence. Awareness points were presented aimed at building a society that respects women's rights
. The call of the true Islamic religion to combat violence against women was also emphasized.
At the conclusion of the symposium, proposals were put forward to amend some points of the Iraqi Family Law with the aim of strengthening women's rights and preventing their manipulation.
 Discussions took place between the attendees and lecturers, and he stressed the importance of raising awareness and forming a society that respects women and their rights.
It is noteworthy that the Women's Empowerment Unit hung awareness posters in the college facilities under the guidance and encouragement of the Dean of the College.
