As part of the scientific events and activities of the College of Pharmacy for the academic year 2023-2024, the College of Pharmacy - the departments of Pharmaceuticals and Toxicology  have organized a scientific symposium entitled:

  "The role of the pharmacist in combating the misuse of psychotropic substances"

The seminar began in with an opening speech of the dean of the College of Pharmacy Prof. Atheer Khalaf Zaghir, where he welcomed the attendants, and then the scientific session began, which included discussion of four basic topics:

First: the Law and the constraints of the use of psychotropic substances: Specialist pharmacist (Bashar Rahoumi), Anbar Health Department.

Second: Mechanism of action of psychotropic substances:

 (Mr. Youssef Shaaban Dawoud), Head of the Pharmaceuticals and Toxicology Branch - College of Pharmacy.

Third: The impact of psychotropic substances on the individual and society: (Dr. Youssef Abdullah Al-Ani), head of the Mental Health Division - Anbar Health Department.

Fourth: The correct mechanism for dispensing psychotropic substances: (Atheer Khalaf Zaghir), Dean of the College of Pharmacy.

By the end of this scientific seminar, many discussions and suggestions are proposed from the attendants , which enriched the topic of the seminar.
