The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Participates in the Scientific Symposium of the College of Medicine

Prof. Dr. Muwaffaq Asaad Mahmood, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, gave a lecture at the scientific symposium held by the College of Medicine, which highlighted the drugs, stimulants, and their negative effects on the individual and society, on Monday, 6/11/2017.

In his lecture, he referred to the drugs as a serious social scourge, accompanied mankind from ancient times and developed until it became one of the most prominent current social phenomena and one of its contemporary problems. This lesion began to worry about the world community in all its categories and trends. It undermines the world community and threatens its civilizations and causes confusion in stopping this flood of scourges and pain and afflicts both developing and developed human societies alike.

Despite the seriousness of drug abuse within any society and the devastating psychological, social, and economic effects on the individual and society, it is necessary to identify and reduce this phenomenon. He stressed the need to establish and organize the scientific, educational, and awareness seminars to reduce the effects of this dangerous phenomenon on the individual and society alike.
