The department of Plant Protection, College of Agriculture at the University of Anbar held a in-person symposum entitled (Mycotoxins and Food Safety), in which Dr. Salem Hassan Saleh Al-Warshan, a teacher in the Department of Plant Protection/University of Anbar and Dr. Hussein Jassim Muhammad Al-Hadithi, a teacher in the Department of Food Sciences / University of Anbar delivered two lectures.

Dr. Salim reviewed mycotoxins concept, epidemiological cases with mycotoxins, problems caused by mycotoxins, exposure to mycotoxins and factors affecting contamination of agricultural products with mycotoxins. Food products that can be contaminated with these toxins, how to protect farmers and consumers from the danger of mycotoxins.

Dr. Hussein addressed the definition of food poisoning with bacterial toxins, the concept of bacterial poisoning, types of food poisoning, internal and external bacterial toxins, and some important examples of bacterial poisoning, bad eating habits that cause poisoning, and ways of protection from food poisoning.
