Within the cultural season in the Department of Horticulture and Landscaping and under the generous of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Idham Ali Abdel.. With God’s blessing, a scientific workshop was held under the title Papaya is a promising fruit tree in Iraq, in which Prof. Dr. Thamer Hamid Raja lectured at the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture and Landscaping, University of Anbar.

The lecturer reviewed the importance of the papaya tree, as it is a promising tree that can be benefited from economically, as it can be found in the Iraqi environment while providing some requirements, as well as being an economic tree in terms of the yield of its desired fruits for consumption due to its high content of vitamins, sugars, minerals and salts, as well as the fact that its green fruits contain some enzymes. Industrially used to tenderize meat .The lecturer added to the use of the leaves of this tree in feeding animals because they contain a high percentage of proteins. The workshop banned a large number of teachers and graduate students from the colleges of agriculture in Iraq. At the end of the workshop, scientific interventions were made from the attendees and appropriate recommendations were taken.
