Within the cultural season in the Department of Horticulture and Landscaping and under the generous patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Idham Ali Abd With God’s blessing, a scientific workshop entitled The Reality of Vegetable Crops Cultivation in Iraq was held, in which Prof. Omar Hashem Mosleh lectured.

The lecturer reviewed the importance of economic, nutritional and medical vegetable crops ,and their production methods, the problems encountered in the production of vegetable crops throughout Iraq, and the possibility of developing solutions for the purpose of overcoming these obstacles in order to advance the productive reality of vegetables and achieve food security for the country. The lecturer mentioned some recent statistics of the spread of vegetable crops in the governorates of Iraq. The workshop banned a large number of teachers and graduate students from the colleges of agriculture in Iraq. At the end of the workshop, scientific interventions were made from the attendees and appropriate recommendations were taken.
