Discussing a master thesis in agricultural economics

The College of Agriculture / University of Anbar witnessed, in presence of College Dean, Prof. Dr. Idham Ali Abed, public discussion of a master’s student (Ibrahim Abdel-Moneim Mohammed) in Agricultural Economics Department about thesis entitled (economic analysis of the costs of producing vegetables under greenhouses in Anbar Governorate for the agricultural season (2019- 2020) The discussion committee consisted of:

1. Prof. Dr. Rahim Kazem Hassan / College of Business Economics - Al-Nahrain University - President

2- Asst. Prof. Dr. Zohal Rdhiwi Kazem/ College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences - University of Baghdad - Member

3- Asst. Prof. Dr. Majid Abd Hamza/ College of Agriculture, University of Anbar - Member

4. Prof. Dr. Mishaal Abd Khalaf / College of Agriculture - University of Anbar - Member and Supervisor

The study aimed at classifying production costs according to different bases and calculating their contribution to the formation of total cost of producing each crop, estimating and analyzing the long-term cost function and its economic derivatives and using it in determining optimal size of greenhouse farm and determining optimum production level that lowers costs, derivation of supply function for vegetable crops in long-term cost function of research sample and estimation of elasticity of supply in those crops. The thesis was accepted after making minor corrections recommended by the discussion committee. Congratulations to student and supervisors.
