Presence of Dr. Mushtaq T.  Al-Nada / President of University of Anbar, and under the supervision of Dr. Amir A. Hilal / Dean of the College of Engineering. Department of Mechanical Engineering cooperation with the Renewable Energy Research Center at the University of Anbar, held a scientific symposium: -

Using renewable energy in Anbar Governorate

 “Ways and Obstacles”

on Tuesday, 28/12/2021 at the hall of the Electrical Engineering Department.

 

The aims were using renewable energy technology to play a greater role in enhancing the increasing demand for electrical energy in Anbar Governorate by overcoming obstacles that limit the use of renewable energy, spreading societal awareness of the use of renewable energy and reducing the use of traditional energy, as well as spreading a culture of rationalization Consumption of electrical energy in society by strengthening research and development mechanisms in renewable energy.

 

 

Many lectures were delivered during the symposium by a number of specialized professors, which included the contents of the symposium’s themes:

 - Reviewing the available renewable energy sources within Anbar Governorate, such as solar energy and wind energy, to enhance the role of universities and educational institutions in spreading a culture of sustainable renewable energy.

- Presentation of the latest technologies and applications in the field of sustainable renewable energy such as improving the thermal and electrical efficiency of solar panels.

- Regional integration projects in the field of energy for sustainable development, such as benefiting from the energy generated by the movement of cars on external roads.

Rationalizing the use of sustainable energy through the use of smart measurement systems to control energy consumption.

 

 

 Recommendations: -

- Spreading societal awareness of the use of various renewable energy technologies.

- Spreading the culture of rationalizing energy consumption through the media and holding educational seminars in this regard.

- The use of smart electric meters in order to reduce the excessive consumption of electrical energy.

- Strengthening scientific research mechanisms to develop technology, especially renewable energy.
