The Internal Medicine Branch was established in the academic year 1990-1991
The internal medicine branch is considered the mainstay of the College of Medicine and one of its most important branches, as it is considered the basic building block in the preparation of future doctors. How could it not? The College of Medicine derived its name from this branch. The Internal Medicine Branch is always keen to provide students with the updated foundations of diagnosis and treatment in line with global development.The branch is also keen to use modern and reliable scientific books and references in its lectures. This branch is distinguished by its keenness to carry out various scientific activities and hold scientific seminars on an ongoing basis. Its teaching staff is also keen to participate in international scientific events in order for them to acquire knowledge and modern experiences so that they can convey their knowledge to their students in a distinctive way. This branch includes the subject of internal medicine and the subjects emerging from it, such as dermatology, psychology, and behavioral. The subject of internal medicine is also divided into different sections that include most of the diseases that affect the various systems of the body, such as heart disease, the respiratory system, the digestive system, and other various systems in the body.
This branch has contributed to the graduation of a large group of distinguished doctors over the past years who contributed to the success of the medical process in our dear country. It was an important contributor to enriching the medical process in Iraq, and it still continues this noble work in the service of our society.
