Based on the directives of the university presidency and under the patronage of the respected Professor Dr. Salah Awad Salman, the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the college held an electronic discussion symposium entitled: (Harassment and Arab Societies) on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Academic figures attended it, including: (Assistant Professor Dr. Sabah Abdul Rahman Al-Mekhlafi Al Bayda University Yemen), (Assistant Professor Dr. Shaima Abdel Aziz Abdel Hamid University of Baghdad), (Dr. Makarem Abdel Wahed Anbar University), and civil society figures Professor Dr. (Asmaa Jamil Rashid University of Baghdad) and Professor (Manaf Al-Ani, a civil activist and executive director of the Forum Love and peace for students and youth / Anbar). This symposium was part of the campaign (Together to create an environment that rejects harassment), which was directed by the Women’s Affairs Department in the Ministry of Higher Education. The outcomes of that symposium were a set of recommendations that were submitted by the lecturers to the higher responsible authorities for discussion to be considered one of the solutions to this widespread problem in society.
