The level of the Graduate Studies Affairs Unit was raised to the Graduate Studies Affairs Division at the college in 2023 within the joints of the organizational structure of the College of Science according to University Order No. (M.G. 8493 on 10/17/2023) and it is administratively linked to the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs. The Division of Graduate Studies Affairs is considered one of the basic pillars of the college, as it represents an important link between the data and outputs of graduate studies in the college and the university presidency and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Division also participates in solving the obstacles facing the path of postgraduate students, starting from their acceptance until granting them documents and certificates, through close and fruitful cooperation with the scientific departments, where they form a solid and integrated circle. Vision The Division of Graduate Studies Affairs works in the field of its administrative specialization in completing all matters related to graduate studies, as it represents the link between the college and the university to advance the level of graduate studies in a way that serves the college and raises its scientific and educational level. The message Covering the college academic departments that include postgraduate students with all official books and notifications that include instructions and laws related to postgraduate studies and books directed by the university presidency. Objectives Completing all transactions for continuing graduate students (Masters, PhD) and graduates by following solid practical mechanisms to advance their administrative reality. The Division also looks forward to following all means to provide the requirements for graduate studies and solve all the problems and obstacles that the student may face during his studies. Mission 1. Supervising the application for postgraduate studies by those who wish to enroll in master’s or doctoral studies in the scientific specializations of the college’s departments. 2. Implementing the mechanism for accepting postgraduate students according to the channels prepared for this by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and according to the college’s departments. 3. Supervising the competitive examination conducted for applicants for postgraduate studies, in cooperation with the college departments. 4. Follow up on the administrative affairs of accepted postgraduate students in terms of commencement, date of completion of study, extension of the study period in case of necessity, and many administrative matters such as facilitating the task, approving and purchasing materials required for research, etc. 5. Supervising the conduct of exams for postgraduate students for the preparatory year. 6. Forming committees to approve research plans for graduate students and committees to follow up on research projects for students from scientific departments. 7. After the end of the study period, the preparation of the research, and the student’s submission of his thesis or dissertation, the Division of Graduate Studies Affairs refers it to the linguistic and scientific evaluator, and in the event that its readiness is recommended by the evaluators, a discussion committee is formed for the student, and after the discussion committee accepts the thesis or dissertation as part of the graduation requirements, a grant recommendation is submitted. Issuing documents for graduates of postgraduate studies (Master’s/PhD), as well as providing the student with the authenticity of the issuance of the certificate he obtained.
