The present study aims to the geological evaluation of Khasib Formation and determine the trends in which reservoir properties are improving.  In addition to the analysis of facies and identification of the sedimentary environment.. The Khasib Formation, which belongs to the Touronian - Lower Campanian cycle (Touronian - L. Campanian), in the Halfaya oil field within the Maysan Governorate in southern Iraq, was chosen as a site for the study, as the formation is one of the important reservoirs within the Maysan oil fields. Seven wells were selected distributed over the field area, which structurally consists of two domes extending from the northwest to the southeast, in addition to a thin anticline with a length of 38 km and a width of 12 km.
Three-dimensional geological models were prepared for the petrophysical properties of the formation, through which the formation was divided into three reservoir units: (Khasib-B, Khasib-A, and Khasib), where the porosity model indicates the presence of a good percentage of porosity within the unit (Khasib) with low percentages. At unit (Khasib A), unit (Khasib B) was characterized by the best porosity ratios.
As for the water saturation model, it showed a high rate at unit Khasib, reaching 80%, and it began to increase at unit Khasib A, which recorded the highest rates of water saturation, sometimes reaching 90%, while unit B (Khasib) was characterized by With the lowest levels of water saturation compared to the previous two units.
The shale size model indicates low to medium percentages at the unit ((Khasib, increasing at unit (Khasib A), while unit Khasib B) showed the lowest percentage of shale content among the three formation units, with very low values at most of the study wells, which confirms the quality From a reservoir perspective, this unit can be considered the main productive reservoir unit of the Khasib Formation in the Halfaya oil field.
After discussion by members of the discussion committee of the thesis topic, the thesis was accepted (fulfilling the conditions)
