The public discussion of the doctoral student (Alaa Shakir Mahmmoud) from the Department of Biology - College of Science - University of Anbar took place on Thursday 17/3/2022 at Jaber Bin Hayyan Hall about her thesis tagged:

 ((Molecular Study on Heat Shock Protein (HSP) in a Sample of Iraqi Patients with Thyroid Disorders in Relation with Physiological and Serological Parameters ))

The study aimed to the possibility of using the HSP genes as risk indicators in diagnosing thyroid disorders and Correlation them with some variables such as oxidative stress index, antioxidants, protein nitration and some mitochondrial indicators.

 The study found that the gene expression of the heat shock genes HSP90AA1 and HSP90AB1 increases in hypothyroidiand hyperthyroidism patients in correlated with an increase in protein nitration as well as changes in the mitochondrial morphology, oxidative stress and antioxidants.

  After extensive discussion by the committee members with the student about the topic of her thesis, the thesis was accepted
