Study the Serum Omentin-1 and Some Physiological and Immunological Aspects in Diabetic Retinopathy Patients

The aim of the study to determine the relationships among the levels of omentin-1, IL-6 and some biochemical parameters in sera of type 2 diabetes patients with and without diabetic retinopathy and comparing with healthy.

 The following conclusion was reached: Although HbA1c and oxidative stress of diabetes were prominent risk factors of DR, it was established that a decrease in serum Omentin-1 and an increase in serum IL-6 are connected with the development of retinopathy and play a significant role in T2DM and its consequences.
