A memorandum of understanding with Universiti Sains Malaysia

On a special scientific day, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Al-Neda, signed a memorandum of understanding with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). At the beginning of the signing ceremony, the President of the University expressed his thanks to the presidency of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for the good hospitality and warm reception. His Excellency gave a presentation that included a comprehensive explanation about the university’s scientific vision and goals in opening up to international universities and moving forward with the internationalization process, in line with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the university’s updated strategic plan to internationalize the university, attract foreign students and professors, train teaching staff, and exchange research experiences.

 

In his speech, the President of the University also stressed the importance of research cooperation, holding scientific conferences, establishing joint research teams between the two universities, and promoting the concept of globally registered patents and research partnerships.

For his part, the President of the Universiti Sains Malaysia and his deputy for scientific research and advanced staff at the university welcomed the visiting delegation and presented a historical overview of the university, and expressed his happiness in achieving joint and constructive scientific cooperation through fulfilling the terms of the memorandum with the deep-rooted University  of Anbar. At the conclusion of the ceremony, souvenirs were exchanged between the two sides in the presence of the deans of the colleges of engineering, computer science & information technology and Islamic sciences, the head of the Renewable Energy Research Center, the head of the Division for Students Affairs outside Iraq in the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, the head of the International Classifications Unit, and their counterparts at the Universiti Sains Malaysia.
