Biography

Afaf Sami Salih Ahmed.

I am a lecturer at the university of Anbar . Education College for Women, English Language Department. I am teaching Grammar and Linguistics .

I obtained my BA in English Language from Anbar University/ College of Education for Women /Department of English in 2000,  my MA in English Language and its literature from Baghdad University /college of Education-Ibn Rushd in 2007 and my Ph.D from University of Babylon/ college of Education for Human Sciences /English Department in 2020. My research intrest is in general linguistics and in socilinguistics in specific.

 -Participating significantly to various activities and events held by the college or university, such as organizing scientific and artistic exhibitions, participating in   Science   Day and International Women’s Day celebrations by preparing and supervising the students' acting performance in the short film “Returning to Haifa,” designing awareness posters, contributing to tree-   planting   campaigns, donating books to the college library, volunteering for events, and actively participating in community service and extracurricular activities.

-Organizing seminars in the field of specialization, such as “Pragmatic Gaps and Teaching Language,” in addition to general awareness seminars on topics like combating drug abuse and terrorism among youth, as well as seminars on university behavior and student discipline.

-Participating in writing a research paper titled “External Political Employment of Terrorism in Iraq” in the Second International Conference on Combating Extremism and Terrorism, held under the slogan “Extremism and Terrorism: A Threat to Societal Peace,” in 2024.
 

-Organizing seminars, training courses, and panel discussions within the field of specialization, in addition to conducting guidance sessions for female students.
These include seminars such as “Family Strategies in Promoting Positive Values and Rejecting Religious Extremism,” a course on “APA Style of Academic Writing,” a course on “Writing Lecture teaching   Objectives ,” a seminar on drugs, addiction, and youth awareness of their dangers, as well as a panel discussion on university discipline laws.

-Holding membership in many committees in the department and the college, such as : the central and sub-examination committees ,the discipline committee, investigation committees, audit committee, the academic plans committee in the English department, the program accreditation committee, and others.
