Two staff members from the College of Engineering obtain a patent

Professor Dr. Amir Abdul Rahman Hilal, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Professor Dr. Sadiq Aliwi Suleiman, teaching staff at the College of Engineering, in cooperation with Engineer Abdul Halim Ali Hammad from Anbar Governorate, obtained a patent entitled (A modified device for taking bottom load samples). The invention relates to the manufacture of a modified device based on a device previously built by Dutch engineer Johan Van Veen in 1933.

The use of the modified device with its new design provides a wide range of advantages in terms of productivity and the safety of researchers at work. The device was manufactured with this design to be suitable for use in Iraqi rivers, as it was operated in more than one location on the Euphrates River and its performance was excellent. The purpose of manufacturing the device is to save a lot of money, effort and time for Iraqi researchers, as the manufactured device is used in hydrological, geological and environmental studies.
