In implementation of the directives of the President of the University of Anbar, Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Al-Neda, regarding the annual update of the H-index guide for the university’s researchers, the guide of researchers who achieved the highest H-index values in the Clarivate database for the year 2025 has been prepared. This directive is in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s instructions aimed at supporting and encouraging Iraqi university researchers to publish their work in journals indexed in internationally recognized databases, particularly Clarivate. It also aligns with the strategic plan adopted by the Presidency of the University of Anbar to achieve higher positions in global rankings.
The guide includes H-index data from Web of Science for 225 researchers at the University of Anbar who achieved a value of 3 or higher, as of February 1, 2026. It is worth noting that the number of researchers, according to InCite, who obtained an H-index of 1 or higher in Clarivate under the affiliation (University of Anbar) reached 991 researchers. In addition, the guide lists the number of publications indexed in the database for each researcher, along with the total number of citations received. The data also indicate that the H-index values of the top three distinguished researchers were 49, 45, and 31, respectively.
The data further show a clear increase in the university’s H-index in the database for the year 2025, reaching H-index = 83, compared to H-index = 73 in 2024.
In conclusion, the University of Anbar continues its pursuit of research excellence, under wise leadership and a clear vision, with the aim of strengthening its leading position in scientific research and high-quality academic publishing.
