University of Anbar Launches Interactive Environmental Impact Counter

The University of Anbar has announced the launch of an Interactive Environmental Impact Counter on the homepage of its official website. The counter will display real-time, continuously updated sustainability indicators reflecting the environmental impact of the University's digital transformation. These include the number of trees preserved, the amount of water and energy saved, and the reduction in carbon emissions.

In this context, the University achieved remarkable results in reducing paper consumption during 2025, saving approximately 1.0875 metric tons of paper, equivalent to 87 cartons, through the complete transition to electronic correspondence, the adoption of the university email system, and the use of QR code technology in administrative procedures.

This achievement reflects the directives of the President of the University of Anbar, Professor Mushtak Talib Al-Neda, aimed at advancing digital transformation and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These initiatives contributed to saving 26 trees from being cut down, conserving more than 65,000 liters of water, reducing electricity consumption, and lowering carbon dioxide emissions, further strengthening the University's position as a leading academic institution in environmental sustainability and digital transformation.
