Using Satellites ..University of Anbar Originates a Weather Forecast in Anbar Province

   Within the development plan of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center - University of Anbar, and in order to achieve the objectives of the sustainable development according to the vision of University of Anbar 2030, specifically those related to the subject of studying climate change and providing databases for researchers and those who are interested in this important field, the Center originated a private bulletin for weather forecasts in Anbar Province using satellites. It is prepared by (Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Jassam Mukhlif), a researcher specialized in climate in the Department of Natural Resources Development at the Center.

 

Dr. Ahmed Jassam, Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center, stated the expected weather conditions (God willing) for Tuesday, December 12, 2023:

 

1. The western plateau region of Iraq is witnessing a state of atmospheric instability on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, as it is affected by a frontal atmospheric depression that forms opportunities for raining in the form of short-period showers in separate areas starting this afternoon. Then, it rains again in an accumulated manner in all parts of Anbar Province, extending to the regions of Iraq at (10 PM.), and its fall will continue until (6 AM) on Wednesday, December 13, 2023

 2. Temperatures during the day on Tuesday are minimum: (13°C) and maximum: (20°C), and will continue to drop until Wednesday.
 3. Relative humidity is (60%) during the morning - (80%) and increases during the evening hours. The President of the University stressed that the University of Anbar is ready to open sustainable international research partnerships with German universities, which comes within its strategic plan in this field. At the same time, he instructed all the University’s institutions including research centers and relevant scientific departments to open channels of communication with their counterparts from German universities in order to achieve the desired benefit from this international scientific project.
