Launching the Events of the 2nd International Conference on Moderation and its Role in Constructing Peace and the Contemporary State

On the patronage of His Highness the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Nabeel Kadhem Abdulsaheb and under the supervision of the President of the University of Anbar Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Taleb Salih Al-Neda and under the logo: The Moderation in the Discourse is our Path to the Peace, the events of the 2nd International Conference on Moderation and its Role in Constructing Peace and the Contemporary State have been launched on the campus of the University of Anbar for the period 23-24 of March with a wide scientific participation from inside and outside Iraq.

The Conference initiated by reciting Ayahs of Holy Qur'an and playing the Iraqi national anthem as well as reciting Surat Al-Fateha on the souls of Iraq's martyrs. The items of the celebration also included screening a documentary produced by the department of Media and Public Relations imitates the scientific and constructing march under the title ( Who Am I ). The President of the University of Anbar and the representative of the His Highness the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research  delivered a speech on this occasion in which he emphasized that the University of Anbar has risen up after the destruction to advance scientifically and develop in construction to welcome you and embrace dear guests of different spectra from inside and outside Iraq whom gathered by the University's message in moderation referring that the Islamic religion paid a great attention in the discourse reaching to the constructive communication and that the message of the University of Anbar has come to spread moderation in the discourse where the University held many symposiums and workshops to handle this topic as well as it held the 1st version of the International Conference in 2018 and today our esteemed university embraces the 2nd version of the Conference on Moderation. I have a pleasure to convey to you the greetings of His Highness the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research wishing to you all success for works of the Conference and achieving its set out objectives. 

Furthermore, Dr. Mohammed Abdulkadhim Al-Augaili, the representative of the National Security Advisor delivered a speech in which he referred to the significance of holding this conference and its role in handling extremism and rejecting hatred wishing that the conference comes out with effective recommendations to achieve moderation and peace.

After that the sessions of the conference started which will include discussing a number of axes which are the social axe and the role of the socialization in constructing peace and the religious axe and the role of religious moderation in constructing peace as well as legal and political axe and the role of the law and moderated political discourse in constructing peace and the contemporary state in addition to the educational and psychological axe, the educational and psychological sciences and their impact in achieving moderation and constructing peace, besides the  economical and administrative axe  and the influence of the economic and administrative factors in achieving social justice as well as the strategic and media axe and the strategies of achieving moderation and constructing peace and the contemporary state. Before starting the second session of the conference works a film was screened about the role of the University of Anbar in moderation and rejecting hatred.

The Conference, which is attended by the Governor of Anbar and representatives from the National Security Advisory as well as the President of Fallujah University and the President of Kufa University in addition to the scientific and religious scholars as well as security leaderships and directors of the departments and a number of the researchers from inside and outside Iraq, aims at encouraging researchers to contribute effectively in researches to consolidate the culture of moderation and constructing peace and the contemporary state as well as to enhance citizenship in maintaining the society security, tolerance, and spreading a culture of moderation by highlighting the bright aspects of our Arab Islamic heritage and showing the effect of the moderation in economic development as well as the prosperity of the society and finding a scientific and cultural environment permits for the intellectual cross-pollination and consolidates the spirit of scientific competition and distinction as well as coming out with implementable recommendations and plans on the short and long extents from the participated parties in the Conference.
