Number of University of Anbar Lecturers Obtain Patent

Asst. Prof. Dr. Yousra Mahmoud Hammadi College of Science, Prof. D. Abdul Qader Ismail Al-Hadithi College of Engineering and the researcher Mr. Mustafa Ghanem Jihad College of Science at the university of Anbar in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal Department of scholarships at University of Fallujah, obtained a patent entitled (Properties of self-compacting concrete containing nanocellulose prepared from paper waste) which was issued by the Ministry of Planning/ Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control. The invention aims to prepare nanofibers from paper waste produced by educational institutions and state departments. It will contribute to reduce the environmental pollution resulting from these wastes. Besides, the nanocellulose is considered as a non-toxic polymeric material that has high mechanical properties and a large surface area. As self-compacting concrete with mechanical properties and durability of high performance was produced, thereby laboratory studies were conducted to evaluate the physical and mechanical properties of high-performance concrete containing nanocellulose prepared and compare the results with the position concrete that does not contain nanocellulose. The results confirmed that the nanofibers have a great role in enhancing the concrete resistance for cutting, tensile, bending, shock and contraction.
