The University of Anbar holds a workshop on the role of the QS World University Rankings.

The University of Anbar-the International Rankings Unit, in cooperation with the (QS) International Organization, held an advanced workshop entitled the role of the (QS) global classification methodology in developing the academic performance of Iraqi universities, the University of Anbar as a model.

 

 

Before the start, the President of the University stressed the great importance of the international rankings of universities, as they are a tool for measuring the good performance of universities and highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, which allows these universities to develop their work by strengthening strengths and addressing weaknesses in all areas, which leads to an effective contribution to the advancement of work.

The University of Anbar was keen to achieve these requirements despite the difficult conditions that afflicted the university during the previous years. Indeed, the university has practically begun to move towards achieving the goal and entering into many international classifications and obtaining advanced positions.

The workshop included advanced lectures on the global classification methodology delivered by professors and classification specialists, where Professor Talal Youssef, Executive Dean of Higher Education and Emerging Technologies - the Australian Aviation Authority and a professor at Central Queensland University gave a lecture entitled QS classification and its impact on its use of energy sources.

 

The second lecture was entitled The History of QS Organization and its Various Methodologies in Ranking World Universities by Dr. Ashwin Jerome Fernandes, Regional Director of QS in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. Mr. Rami Mohamed Awad, QS Regional Director in the Middle East and Africa, gave a lecture entitled “QS classification methodology” and a lecture by Professor Dhiya Majid Al-Jumaily, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology at Liverpool Liverpool John Moores University, UK, titled The impact of the quality of scientific research on international classifications.
