The University Concludes a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Jordan

In implementation of the strategic plan and vision of the University of Anbar by raising its status to levels comparable to the sober international universities with the highest positions in the distinguished international rankings, the University of Anbar has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Jordan. The President of the University of Anbar, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nida, and the President of the University of Jordan, Prof. Dr. Nathir Al-Obeidat signed a memorandum of understanding for the purpose of strengthening scientific and academic cooperation frameworks, exchanging expertise, conducting joint research, and participating in supervising postgraduate students' theses and dissertations, in addition to participating in applying for international grants, including the European Union grants. Al-Nida emphasized the University of Anbar's enthusiasm to build bridges of full scientific, research and academic cooperation with all institutions of the University of Jordan, including the invitation to participate in conferences, scientific seminars, forums and joint international research cooperation.

For his part, Dr. Al-Obeidat expressed his great pleasure at signing this memorandum due to the scientific and academic status the University of Anbar enjoys locally, regionally and internationally, enhancing its position at the forefront of international rankings at the level of Iraq, including the famous British Times Ranking.

In a related context, the President of the University of Anbar expressed his sincere gratitude and pleasure for this visit, stressing that the University of Anbar opens all doors for scientific and academic cooperation with the University of Jordan being one of the most prominent Arab universities that occupies advanced positions in the Shanghai and the British Times Rankings.

The University of Anbar’s delegation held discussion sessions over two consecutive days with the senior leaders of the University of Jordan, including the Vice President for the Affairs of the Faculties of Science and Humanities, the Vice President for Accreditation and Quality, and the Dean of Scientific Research, to start activating the memorandum in a way that serves the interests of both parties.

A high-esteemed delegation attended the signing of the memorandum, consisting of Prof. Dr. Nihad Mohamed Abboud, Director of the Desert Studies Center and a representative of the research centers at the University, Prof. Dr. Qutaiba Farhan Dawood, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, Prof. Dr. Duraid Moayed Abd, Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department, and Prof. Dr. Omar Khaldoun Abdel Rahman, Head of the Global Rankings Unit.
